About Mike de Freitas

Philosopher/theologian & theraphist/life coach

In 2012 I completed my interdisciplinary PhD at Stellenbosch University on “Epistemology (the science of truth) and the use of Scripture in pastoral care and counselling.”

As a registered pastoral therapist, I specialize in marriage and sex therapy but also help individuals generally to achieve understanding, integration, freedom and mastery in key areas of life.

I have a heart for the broader body of Christ and am against sectarianism that is not based on the absolute core fundamentals of an evangelical commitment to Jesus, the Bible and the church (“Mere Christianity, so to speak).

I also believe that a correct view of God’s love and Sovereignty means we are to fully engage with all aspects of life and society.

I desire therefore to equip all genuine Christians to know and live out all of the gospel in all aspects of life.

I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness– the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me. (Colossians 1:25-29)
